any known performance problems with Oracle Table-Api ??

We are using the Oracle Table Api which we have generated via Designer 2.1.2. Our current used Oracle Version is 7.3.4.1. We have got the feeling that the table api causes as performance problems with mass inserts, deletes and updates.

Has anyone any experience in this field ? Are there articles, sites, etc which discuss the Table Api feature ? I was not able to find anything valuable ?
