Sounds as if you trying to use OEM, IA and the Data Gather. What platform are you using? Unix or NT...

The snmp.ora file should already be there...the ro and rw will be updated...you should not have touch them....

My guess is that you need to (in OEM) define your nodes and database by automatic discovery not manually...jobs/events only work with automatic....

Please clarify your question...its kinda vague of what you are looking for.

go to www.oracle.com/support if you have a metalink account or if not technet.oracle.com for installation docs for OEM, IA and such...
