Have no idea what Slackware is or what operating system it runs on. So if this is off base please ignore. Did you mount the cd correctly? I know that HPUX has two methods of mounting a cd. Pick the wrong one and there is no way to install Oracle. Pick the right one and the install works correctly. Reading the install manual is where I found how to correctly install Oracle.
