Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> bizarre Oracle networking problem
I previously thought this was related to multiple NIC cards but now I see
that it is not, really.
I have an Oracle 8.i Server, running on NT. There are multiple NIC cards, but only one listener. That actually seems OK, in other words peer servers on both LANs are using the server with no problem.
But when I try to use the server via the internet (which would come in via a router on one of the 2 LANS), the connection tries to start, and then times out. I turned on logging but couldn't find any useful clues.
Its as if the server does not know the route, but I know for a fact the server networking is correct. (If it didn't have a default route I couldn't ping the server over the Internet).
Anybody else seen this very weird problem?
