Well, we installed the 8.0.5 client and we haven't had a problem since. This has been reported also to the Oracle support so next time someone tumbles on this one it should be in the books.

Though we will continue testing it seems we have solved the problem so thank you very much for everyone participating solving this one!

PS.
We encountered peculiar behaviour on our listeners (just disappeared) when using MTS so we are back to dedicated server.
