I need to upgrade Oracle server from V7.3.2 to V.7.3.4 (not ready for V8 for
client OS limitation). There are two options to choose:
1) upgrade with separate $ORACLE_HOME directory
2) upgrade with the same $ORACLE_HOME directory

Because it is too much to rename dbfiles later and/or change client login
SID if using different SID to upgrade, option #1 seems to have too much
work. But option #2 has no chance to test after upgrade.

Question is:
1) if using option #1, does SID has to be different one?
2) if using option #2, how big chance of something got wrong considering it
only upgrades from 7.3.2 to 7.3.4?

Please help.

Thanks,

Steve
