Hi.
Somewhere I saw a chart saying that Oracle is lowering the percentage limit of FULL table scans from one version to another. I don't remember correct values, but I think it was about 15% in 7.3, 9-11% in 8.0 and 5-6% in 8.1.
My tech.support people told me to use optimezer_goal = first_rows in my init.ora to "push" optimizer in using indexes.
