Do you mean 250 per shared server? Or per instance running MTS period?

Per shared server sounds sort of reasonable, I was under the impression that MTS was specifically useful to achieve scalability in the area of 1000 users and beyond.

I would be interested to know where to look for these comments myself, if anyone finds them, or any other documentation on rules of thumb for scaling MTS instances.
