help needed! can not conenct database.

Hi,

I installed Oracle 8 server in my NT server (standalone mode). When I try to connect
the database (ORCL, by default). I got the message "TNS: could not resolved service name".

I checked the tnsnames.ora. The SID is assigned "ORCL". I wonder whether this error is
related to my NT server type (standalone). Can someone help tp solve the problem?
