Scott,

  Are you sure you completely uninstalled OAS 4.0.3? After uninstall, I'd go to the registry and delete the old OAS keys. Installer doesn't do this for you. Then I'd reinstall OAS 4.0.8.1 and everything should be fine. Another note, I've hade major problems when trying to use MS Internet Explorer to configure OAS. Make sure you use Netscape Navigator instead. OAS Manager doesn't seem to like IE very well.
