When i naively ran the full install, I had a problem. When I re-read the docs, I noticed the article about NOT installing a "multimedia" component. I then ran the custom install, choosing everything except the multimedia component.

I have the engine running locally now, after fixing the other gotchas, as per the docs and newsgroup postings (Much Thanks to all contributors).
