Oracle gurus,

I am relatively new to implementing a strategy for deploying Oracle server (8i) for production use...

My use of Oracle will demand high traffic 24x7 (quick requests, and small queries --> as a webmessage board for instance)...

Can you give me or point me to helpful info on the following key topics (and bright other important topics to my attention):

  1. Server capacity:
  2. how important is a lot of onboard cache?
  3. processor speed?
  4. number of processors?
  5. Using RAID or not... striping data for speed
  6. Mirroring (onto second machine) - for Fault Tolerance and faster Backups...

Any help, if just a pointer to a helpful resource/website is very much appreciated.

thanks,
