TNS Error ORA-12505

Hi all,
I've an Oracle8 server installed from where I want to connect to Oracle7 server.
I've inserted the entries of Oracle7 server in 'tnsnames.ora' but it gives the following error.

$ sqlplus iaf/iaf_at_server_v7

SQL*Plus: Release 8.0.5.0.0 - Production on Mon Nov 8 14:13:12 1999 (c) Copyright 1998 Oracle Corporation. All rights reserved. ERROR:
ORA-12505: TNS:listener could not resolve SID given in connect descriptor

Due to this reason I'm also not able to create a DBLink from Oracle8 to Oracle7 server.
On the other hand I've successfully created a DBLink from Oracle7 to Oracle8 server.

Kindly help me in this regards.
