help needed

what are the correct steps to setup the audit to work? i set the audit_trail parameter to be TRUE.. execute the script CATAUDIT.sql.. and then i created a simple audit statement: AUDIT SELETE TABLE BY user2.. however, when i log on ORACLE as USER1, and do the SELECT statement, the action seems to be recorded also.. what am i missing here?? and which table do i see for the audit record?? sys.aud$ or user_audit_trial??
