Nicolas and Dmitriy :-

The 8.0.5. Documentation deals with a problem where basically Windows 98 realises that an *.exe from illustrious Oracle is trying to be run, and then stops it ( boo hiss Microsoft). As it stops the program, you get a generic (i.e. from Windows NOT from Oracle) dialog that tells you to go and see www.oracle.com.

The documentation says to click Help / More Info or something (can't remember - it was July 1999) when you are presented with the dialog box saying ...~ go to www.oracle.com ~

At the correct sub-page of this Help-style dialog box you are apparently presented with an option which lets you hide this error message in future. Once this is clicked, the *.exe's seem to run OK.

That should help - ( and give you another reason never to trust Microsoft again!)
