Problem with Oracle 8i Standard in Linux Mandrake 6.1

Hello.

I have a couple of problems with my installation of Oracle 8i. First of all, I can run the graphical installer, but not with ./runInstaller (I have to use runInst.sh).

The main problem I have has to do with DB creation - the DB Conf. Assistant fails due to a "not logged on" error, in several operations.

I have installed jre for glibc 2.1 (1.1.6v5), as specified in the documentation, and I think my SQLNet 8 is working properly (at least, it answers to a tnsping...).

Does anybody know what's hapening? Thanks in advance.
