thanks for the response. I tried to do what you recommend but I copied the sqlnet and spxsrv.nlm to the oranw734 directory and copied the message files exactly how I have it in the config.ora for 7.2.2 but I keep geting an error on the client.
I got it to work one of the time by reinstalling sqlnet 1.x using the 7.3.4 installer but it copies supporting nlms and overwrite those placed by the 7.3.4 but svrmgr crashed i.e. DB was up so I could connect but could not down it with svrmgr.
If I do the opposite for some reason it does not work i.e. install sqlnet 1.x and then 7.3.4.
I got tired and gave up, will give it a another shot if it works for sure.
