Hello!
I've been using ERwin 3.5 for the past few weeks to work on an Oracle
8i database (client: Win 98, server: Win NT 4.0). Up till now, I've
had no problem connecting. I should note that, also up till now, I had
been using Oracle client 8.0.5 to connect to the 8i database. Today, I
uninstalled the 8.0.5 software and installed the 8.1.5 client software,
as well as Enterprise Manager v 2.0.4. I seem to be able to connect to
the database with every tool on my client, except for ERwin. When I
try to connect, I type my user name, password, and connection string in
as usual, but when I click on 'connect,' nothing happens. No errors
come up. The 'Oracle Connection' window just stays there. Can anyone
tell me why ERwin is no longer able to connect? And can someone tell
me a way to enable ERwin to connect without re-installing the 8.0.5
client software and Enterprise Manager?
