Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> ORA-12545 loosing network connection
I've set up two machines, one with Solaris/Intel and one with
Solaris/Sparc both with Oracle8.1.5. They do have the identical network
configuration, i.e. tnsnames.ora, listener.ora, sqlnet.ora
I don't have any problems at all with the Intel-box but I'm running into
massive problems with the sparc-machine.
I start up the listener and I can connect to the machine via sqlplus, i.e. system/manager_at_webdb. Further, I can connect to the machine as soon as I repeat the connect immediately after logging out. When I wait a couple of seconds and try to log-in again, ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist, comes up. I stop the listener and restart it again, and am able to connect again. Looks like a weird timeout problem to me. I tried to set connect_timeout to 0 without any success.
Any ideas ?
Thanks, Timo.
