A review of parallel databases by Datamation I found at http://www.datamation.com/dataw/05data_970501.html says:
'Oracle 8.0 promises to have a new "all parallelized" method for performing star queries (something NCR's Teradata has been doing since 1993)' So I'd imagine their claim of being more parallelized than anyone else is probably something you should take with a grain of salt. In any case, no benchmarks or marketing data can ever take the place of your own measurements as to how well YOUR particular application performs on different databases using YOUR hardware. Hi:
