A review of parallel databases by Datamation I found at
http://www.datamation.com/dataw/05data_970501.html
says:
'Oracle 8.0 promises to have a new "all
parallelized" method for performing star queries
(something NCR's Teradata has been doing since 1993)'
So I'd imagine their claim of being more parallelized
than anyone else is probably something you should take
with a grain of salt. In any case, no benchmarks or
marketing data can ever take the place of your own
measurements as to how well YOUR particular application
performs on different databases using YOUR hardware.
