Port number setting to use w/ jdbc8.1.6 thin driver?

Hi All ...

I'm attempting to open up a connection using jdbc w/ the Oracle 8.16 thin driver, and am currently receiving

"The Network Adapter could not establish the connection"

I must admit that I'm a bit 'clueless' as to what to enter for the port number setting ...
Has anyone come across this problem? ... or knows how to determine what DB
belongs to what port number?
