cannot start oracle

Hi



I got the following error when starting Oracle.



SVRMGR> connect internal


Connected to an idle instance.


SVRMGR> startup mount


ORA-09998: Message 9998 not found;  product=RDBMS; facility=ORA
Additional information: 4



I tried to lookup ORA-09998 but did not find anything on it.
It's on HP-UX 10.20. Oracle Rdbms 7.3.3.5.1



Pls advise.
