I have found in the past that policies using certain filter types (in
particular MS Word) have a greater propensity to kill the DML server. Have
you ascertained whether the DML server is acting on a particular
policy/index when it dies? What do your policies look like?
Speaking from experience, you may well find that looking at the trace files etc won't do you much good either, they don't contain great amounts of detail where context is concerned, but may help you to confirm any suspicions you have.
