If you are careful and methodical I don't see why you can't do it. You cannot drop a rollback segment while it is in use and as long as you always have an adequate number of rollback segments online you should be ok.

What you don't want to do is have all rollback segments offline because then the rdbms will probably try to use the SYSTEM rollback segment and that would cause real problems. Received on Tue Aug 31 1999 - 08:11:10 CDT
