NLS_CALENDAR

I've tried many use the command :

   ALTER SYSTEM SET NLS.... But I stil confuse the using of
  ALTER SYSTEM SET NLS_CALENDAR Coz when I looking for the explanation in the Help, there's no detail explanation there.
Is there anyone want to help me ?
