Thanks for all the replies. I've finally been able to install the software. Problem actually lied in the CD itself. What happened was that I asked our operations guys to make a copy of the original CD and use it for the installation. How was I to know that I had to tell him the format it had to be copied in? Apparently there are may formats in which a CD can be copied. And being a Windows person, the ops guy just copied it in "DOS" format. So I only had files in 8.3 formats. Gosh, it took me 3 days to figure it out.

I have since mounted the original CD into the drive and got the installation going.
