Hello!

having a database on Oracle 8.0.x "filled" with data in a german environment (i.e. Strings do contain german special chars) and a server NLS_LANGUAGE already set to 'AMERICAN', how should the settings on server and clients be in order to have correct behaviour on sorting (and performance with FIRST_ROWS):

How do existing tables/data get affected? Do I need to rebuild indices?

Thanks a lot!
