Hi,

Has anyone seen this before?

I have a database that has been analyzed so I can use cost based optimization. Everything works fine after I analyze the schema.

However, If I do a cold backup of the database that has just been analyzed and then restore it, I get very poor performance unless I analyze it again.

If I do an analyze and don't backup/restore the performance is normal.

What would a cold backup/restore do to effect the statistics of an analyze?

This is Oracle 8.1.5 on NT
