Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Problems creating 8i-database on NT
NT 4.0, SP3. 114Mb RAM
I have successfully installed the 8i-software (minimal) without createing a
database. When I afterwards use the Database Configuration Assistant I get
problems. I have tried different; typical database and custom database,
short SIDs and long SIDs. What happens is that when the assistant starts to
create the database I get: ORA-12570:TNS:error reading package and (if I
ignore this) ORA-12571:TNS:error writing package when it is creating
database files.
I have the OracleORA_HOMETNSListener-service started and also the
OracleServiceSID gets started.
My tnsnames.ora, sqlnet.ora and listener.ora follows as I can't see anything
wrong in them (maybe you can...):
# D:\ORANT\NETWORK\ADMIN\LISTENER.ORA Configuration File:d:\orant\NETWORK\ADMIN\listener.ora # Generated by Oracle Net8 Assistant

Thanks for any help...
