You are right about the memory leak. I have a support contract with Oracle here in Germany, and they have told me that the driver (even with the new 8.0.5.6 patch) does have a memory leak problem. They recommended that I shouldn't use their driver and that I should buy the Merant (www.merant.com) DataDirect ODBC driver. I downloaded the evaluation version of this driver and had no problems with memory leaks (although it seems a little slower).

I think Oracle should have at least with version 8.0.5 of their driver have sorted these problems out by now. Hopefully they do something soon.
