Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> OFA Compliant location of init.ora
Hi,
When I was reading the 8.0.6 Installation guide
it stated that "If you are following the OFA recommendations"
then put the init.ora file in:
$ORACLE_BASE/admin/<sid>/pfile/init<sid>.ora
and if you are not following OFA recommendations to put
them in $ORACLE_HOME/dbs. I like that idea because
I have multiple $ORACLE_HOMEs and I have init files
all over the place. Now I can put all my init files
in one place. The only thing is that svrmgrl doesn't
read the init file from the "OFA" location by default.
It will only look for it in the $ORACLE_HOME/dbs location.
Is there some way to get svrmgrl to read from the OFA
location without specifying the pfile= option? Does
one just need to put a symbolic link in the dbs
directory?
