Just a simple (and probably some will find dumb) question: When I start the database it says

ORACLE instance started.

Total System Global Area 4754704 bytes
Fixed Size                                          48400 bytes
Variable Size                                     4222976 bytes
Database Buffers                                   409600 bytes
Redo Buffers                                        73728 bytes

In the init.ora, I have

log_buffer = 32768

Why is it reporting 73728 bytes when I init.ora says otherwise? Received on Sat Jul 31 1999 - 15:45:49 CDT
