Hi,
Is it possible to talk from Oracle to Informix using ESQL in a C program? If it is, then do you need a SQL precompiler for C language to be installed before you can run/compile your C program?
I know Oracle recommends the use of HS and Transparent Gateway product as a solution to the above question. This is something not many clients would agree to include in a shoestring project budget. so I would like to know if there is an alternative. I tried using external procedures, but oci calls are leading to a lot of linking errors.
I would appreciate if anyone could suggest a way around to the above mentioned problem.
thanks
-Deepa
