Good question. I'll have to check to be sure, but I believe that by using an 8K stripe size (assuming hardware level raid) it will write 8K blocks per device. Actually, this probably varies according to the mfg of the RAID adapter (again assuming hardware RAID). For software RAID, I believe NT does the same thing, although I've never used the software RAID.
