Since Oracle is not aware that your connection has been terminated you
will need to tell Oracle to terminate your sessions manually using the
"alter system kill session 'sid,serial#'; " command. The sid and
serial# are columns in v$session for those unfamilar with the dynamic
performance tables (documented in the Reference manaual).
You might want to consider reducing the idle time in your profile to have Oracle do its clean up quicker, but if your process was holding a lock you will definitely want to log back in and manually clean it up.
