I have just installed Oracle 8i for Solaris 2.7.

Where are the SQL*PLUS help files which (in version 8.0 for example) should be found in:

    $ORACLE_HOME/sqlplus/admin/help

Mostly I need "sqlplus.ctl", which contains all the SQL*PLUS help text! All I have are the helpindx.sql and the helptbl.sql files.

the helpins command invokes plushelp.ctl, but plushelp.ctl does not even attempt to load these files.

They simply are not there.

I have searched all day for ANY infor (for example from OTN website) about these missing files with no success.

Thanks much
