Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Strange DB connections ??
We're running a dev database ( Oracle8.1.5 ) which is accessed by our
developers via OAS4.7.0.1, SQL*Plus sessions and from a number of D2K
sessions.
Currently the TNSlistener is configured to use dedicated servers....every
once in a while we get an error...
ORA-12203 : TNS listener could not service request when trying to access
the database from one of the above tools...now, when we close a couple of
applications and then try to reconnect everything is fine, until we try a
few more connections and then the error returns....we are obviously reaching
a limit somewhere...and I don't know where...I've opened 50 SQL*Plus
sessions to see if there is a max limit on users...doesn't seem to be the
case. The error only seems to occur when a number of users are accessing via
a number of different methods..Has anyone seen this before ??
We know the database is up because it continues to be accessed by webserver and generates pages based on queries...we know the listener is up because it allows access to another instance which uses this listener....any ideas ??
Cheers
