In my opinion, you may want to choose Solaris 2.6 more than 2.5. however, you may not want to go to 2.7 yet, since 2.7 (the os) is 64 bits. And I don't think Oracle has been implemented as 64 bits yet. If you want to has better performance, I think you may want to stay with Solaris more than NT, since on Solaris, you will have more flexibility to tune even the os as well.
