Yep - the later version 4 application servers (e.g. 4.0.7) are even more buggy. The delay you are seeing is probably one of the crashed processes recovering - it takes a while for the GPF log to be written and the process (e.g. the wrb) does not restart until then.

As for memory - I run OAS 4.0.6.4 happily on WinNT4 with just 64Mb physical RAM. There are limitations on the number of users etc, but it works OK as a development environment.

Though 4.0.7 fixes some bugs over 4.0.6.4 (e.g. numbers of parameters that a procedure will accept) the stability seems to have got much worse.
