init.ora parameters

I am currently on 7.3.3.6 and have come across a parameter in which I have been unable to find information on. The parameter resides in the init.ora and is USE_READV. By default, it is set to FALSE. Does anyone know what this parameter does when it is set to TRUE? Any information would be helpful. Thank you in advance.
