We have tried out sending mails from the Oracle database 8.0.4 from HP-UX server. It was successful
I can try giving you the overall picture of how it works -
Note : Configuring UNIX is done in /etc/mail/sendmail.cf
daemon.pc program is already present in Oracle Developers
Guide book.
Only pending thing from your side is trigger coding.
