LONG and LONG RAW question

Hello

I encountered a difficulty in dealing with LONG and LONG RAW datatypes.

We are trying to move rows from a OLTP accessed table to an archive database for querying purposes.

Simple Method we though of is : "insert into (select from)" through database link.

Now, LONG datatypes cannot be part of a subselect.

So, my question is: Would Context cartridge would permit such kind of manipulation
