Sure.
But! You must not recover controlfiles and redolog files back to system if failure occured!
It's strongly recommended duplicate (mirror) this files on several (2 or 3) HD!
There is important information about lastest transaction inside this files. And if you recover this files from the old full backup, this information be for that old time.
Database stay recovered, but for the moment of full backup only. No new trasactions from that moment be recovered.
