Home -> Community -> Usenet -> c.d.o.server -> Q: oracle 8.0.5 fails to start in private network ?
sir: has any body seen this problem before(oracle 8.0.5 aix 4.2.1).
Last night and this morning (7/2/99) we had problems connecting Orca to the Y2k "private" network. Once we connected Orca to the "private" network the Oracle databases wouldn't come up. This seems to some sort of problem(bug) with Oracle. In the mean time we have been able to reinstall Oracle 8.0.5 and bring the databases up. This only works when it is on the "public" network.
Oracle 7 is able to start under the same private network. For oracle 8.0.5 svrmgrl startup mount would lockup and crash server.
Thanks in advance
