Do you mean a referencable customer, or a reference book? If it's the former, you should talk to your Oracle sales rep (undoubtedly you'll get feedback from others in this group, but officially referencable customers come through a sales rep). If it's the latter, the only reference book I've seen is the replication manual itself. There is a good book that deal with replication generically called "Data Replication" by Marie Buretta, but it's not up to date with the Oracle8 specifics.

As far as the firewalls are concerned, from a replication perspective all you need to be concerned about is any performance impact they might have. Once you have the SQL*Net connections through the firewall set up, replication will use that without specific concerns that there is a firewall in there.
