NT4 - Oracle7.3

When I try to recovery tablespace 'name', I get ORA-00308 - cannot open archive log. These file are written to this location, but for some reason cannot be read, any ideas why?? Is a RAID1 disk. Is there no way to recover this tablespace? Or can I move the the archive log to a different location and then specify which file to use for tablespace recovery, if so how? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

My steps were

set autorecovery on.
recover tablespace 'name'

Maybe I'm missing a step?
