User exits

I'm still working with 7.x databases. Can anyone tell me whether pl/sql under Oracle 8 allows user exits from pl/sql? I know they they can occur from Oracle Forms applications, but what I am looking for is a way to perform user exits from pl/sql scripts run using sqlplus.
