OAS and Valid Virtual Host error

I looked in DejaNews archives and found some information on this problem, but none of the suggestions seem to help.

I have OAS 3.x on an NT4.0 SP3 machine. Everything worked fine on the default port (80). When I changed to a different port I get the error:

"The request did not specify a valid virtual host"

I only get this error on IE 4.x, seems to be ok on IE 3.x and always works on Netscape 4.x.

IE works fine on port 80 and on port 8888 ( admin port ) but not on another specified port.

I can not trace this down, and it works for Netscape.
