I am trying to install Oracle 8 EE Server on a Solaris 2.5.1 box. I have followed the directions for kernel and environment settings. However, while running the installation program, I get an error that Oracle *'s executables did not make properly. Here is an abstract of the install.log. Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance,

Joseph Krozak

I am trying to install a Try and Buy version of Oracle 8 Server Enterprise Edition for Solaris. I have a Solaris 2.5.1 box. I have followed the instructions for setting up the environment, etc. However, while running ./orainst /m (the Motif version of your installation program), I get an error when attempting to install the database.
The logfile is provided below:

<blah, blah ...>

>>> Finished Loading Files
(( OIERR-SYSTEM: make -f
/sft3/oracle/product/8.0.4/otrace/lib/ins_otrace.mk ORACLE_HOME=/sft3/oracle/product/8.0.4 install )) >>> Leaving trace.ins

Any suggestions ? Received on Wed Jun 16 1999 - 08:23:41 CDT
