Oracle 8i help please

I have recently installed a "clean" version of Oracle 8.1.5 on an NT server. It is running 3 instances. This machine had recently had 8.0.5 installed and worked flawlessly for over 6 months. Now about once a day, The 8.1.5 server apparently stops listening. It "freezes" all pre-established connections and won't allow any new ones. SQL*Plus reports "Unable to connect to destination."

Stooping and starting the listener, and instances doesn't seem to help. Only an re-boot will being it back to life.

Any help would be greatly appreciated here.
